Dhaka Abahani Limited managed a two-wicket victory over Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Sangha in the Women’s Premier Division Cricket League at BKSP ground-4 in Savar on Tuesday.
Sent in to bat first, Khelaghar SKS scored 150 for 7 in stipulated 50 overs with Sampa Mukerjee making the team highest 38 runs off 73 balls hitting six fours.
Nigar Sultana (20), Renu Yadav (19), Ruby Haider (14) were the other notable scorers for Khelaghar SKS.
Suborna Islam and Jannatul Ferdous grabbed two wickets each conceding 29 and 29 runs respectively while Jhumur Akhter took one for 20 runs.
Chasing a target of 151 runs, Abahani Limited scored 153 for 8 in 47.4 overs to win the match.
Middle order Montaha Khatun contributed the match highest 40 runs off 70 deliveries featuring three boundaries and was adjudged player of the match.
Besides, Sharmin Akhter (28), Sharmin Sultana (25), Shivani Sharman (16), Jannatul Ferdous (16) and captain Jahanara Alam (16) were other main contributors of Abahani Ltd.
Laboni Akhter and Renu Yadav claimed two wickets each conceding 24 and 34 runs respectively.
In the day’s other match, Rupali Bank Krira Parishad beat BSKP by six wickets at BKSP ground-3 in Savar.
Winning the toss, BKSP opted to bat first and were all out for 156 runs in 46.1 overs with Murshida Khatun Happy making 62, Subhana Mostary 29 and Nahida Akhter 27 runs.
Neelam Bisht made the major damage to the BKSP innings grabbing four wickets for 26 runs to be adjudged player of the match while Rumana Ahmed took two wickets for 13 runs
In reply, Rupali Bank KP easily reached their target scoring 157 runs for 4 in 35.2 overs with Nuzhat Tasnia scoring 44, Ayesha Rahman 39 and Rumana Ahmed 25 runs.
Kohinoor Akhter, Jannatul Ferdous and Murshida Khatun Happy took one wicket each.
