The Aarong Dairy Federation Cup (Ranking) Table Tennis Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF), began on Monday at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Palton area of the city
Assistant General Manager (Marketing) of the meet’s sponsor BRAC Enterprize (Aarong Dairy) Suriya Siddika inaugurated the four-day meet in the afternoon.
BTTF President and former principal secretary to the Prime Ministers Office Mohammad Abdul Karim presided over the inaugural function, also attended by BOA Deputy Secretary General Ashiqur Rahman Miku and BTTF general secretary Khondakar Hasan Monir.
In the men’s team matches on the opening day, Palolic Group beat Bagerhat DSA, TT Academy defeated Chittagong DSA, ANH Company beat Stride School and Bangladesh Army beat Narail DSA, all by 3-0 straight sets.
In the women’s group, Bangladesh Army beat Stride School, Dhaka DSA beat Patuakhali DSA and Stride School (Red) beat Bagerhat DSA, all by 3-0 straight sets.
A total of 105 paddlers from 15 team–eight for men’s and seven for women’s -rae taking part in the four events-men’s team, women’s team, men’s singles and women’s singles.
Participating men’s teams are: Holders Palolic Group, Arunima, Bangladesh Army, ANH Company, Stride School, Bagerhat, Chittagong and Narail DSAs.
Women’s team: Abahani Ltd, Stride School, Stride School (Red) Bangladesh Army, Dhaka, Patuakhali and Bagerhat DSAs.
