Less than a week before polling begins, the Election Commission has clinched a key partnership with film actor Aamir Khan as its national icon, and recorded video and audio campaigns showing him urging people to vote “ethically”. The arrangement was finalized
after minor issues, which threatened to delay EC’s negotiations with the actor beyond the current elections, were papered over.
