Aamar Bhashar Chalachchitro 1420 ended on February 28 at the TSC Auditorium of University of Dhaka.
The six-day festival showcased Bengali movies to observe the International Mother Language Day and to pay homage to the language martyrs.
Dhaka University Film Society organised this flagship event, which is a regular annual festival for the last 14 years.
A total of 25 films were screened in this festival. Each day held four sessions at 10:00am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm and 6:30pm.
On the last day of the festival, Mukh O Mukhosh (the first Bengali movie of the country, directed by Abdul Jabbar Khan), Ghor-e Baire (Satyajit Ray), Dipu Number 2 (Morshedul Islam) and Keyamat Theke Keyamat (Shohanur Rahman Shohan) were screened.
The film festival generated much hype among the students and the general film enthusiasts. Films like Television, Udhao, Mishawr Rohosshyo drew significant numbers of crowd.
On the other hand, hall-packed audience for Keymat Theke Keyamat, Share Chuyattor and Ghor-e Baire showed that they still have special places among the viewers.
This festival was first organised in 2002. Since 2007 this festival is continuing under the official name of Aamar Bhashar Chalachchitro.
This is the 13th edition of this festival, which has had a total of 307 screenings of more than 250 Bengali movies over the course of last 14 years.
