A total of 392,117 posts lying vacant in govt offices

A total of 3,92,117 posts are lying vacant in all the ministries, departments and other government offices, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain told the parliament on Thursday.
“At present 3,92,117 posts are lying vacant in the government offices. Some posts are not filled due to cases in the court, lack of competent candidates and incomplete task of the recruitment rules,” he said in reply to a written question of the Member of Parliament Benazir Ahmed.
He also mentioned that there were mandatory rules to submit the wealth statement of the government employees as per the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 2018. The State Minister also told the House that the foreign citizenships of the government employees’ family members were already included in the Conduct Rules.
He said this in reply to a written query of the Member of Parliament Barrister Shamim Hayder Patwari.
Regarding the proposed draft of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 2022, Farhad Hossain said that a summary of the Rules has already been sent to the Cabinet on May 1 this year for its update.
He also said, the formulation of the new Posting Policy for the government employees is still underway and it will be effective soon.
