A teenager named Enamul (12) was killed when he fell from the roof of a moving train at Mashakhali Railway Station area of Pagla Police Station in Mymensingh’s Gafargaon upazila on Friday morning. His home is in Purbadhala upazila. His father’s name was Mokhlech Mia. Mokhlech Mia drives a rickshaw in Joydebpur town. He did not return home with the expenses of the family from his father.
Mashakhali Railway Station authorities, railway police and eyewitness sources said the Dewanganj-bound Dewanganj commuter train, which left Dhaka at around 8am on Friday, stopped at Mashakhali station. The Dhaka-bound Bhawal Express train crossed the Devarganj commuter train at Mashakhali Station. After leaving the Dewanganj commuter train from Mashakhali Railway Station at the end of the journey, Enamul fell from the roof of the moving train 15 yards away from the platform of the railway station in front of Mashakhali railway crossing. The seriously injured teenager fell on the railway line for about an hour and a half. Despite receiving the news, neither the railway nor the railway police came forward to help him. He told eyewitnesses that his name was Enamul, his father’s name was Mokhlech Mia, and their home was in Purbadhala upazila. He went to Joydebpur two days ago to fetch money from his father. He fought to the death for about an hour and a half and died without treatment at around 10.30 am. The body was recovered by the railway police led by SI Shahidullah Miah, in-Charge of Gafargaon railway police outpost, around 1pm.
Mohammad Shahidullah Mia, in-Charge of Gafargaon Railway Police Station, said the body of the deceased was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Thus, the killing of people by one person after another or by throwing them off the train is causing panic among the common people.
Note: On Tuesday night, September 22, an unidentified miscreant killed a young man by throwing him from the roof of a moving train in Gafargaon railway station area.
