A large quantity of gold has been seized at Shah Amanat International Airport Chattogram. The consignment arrived on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-147 flight from Dubai on Saturday morning. Airport Manager Wing Commander Farhad Hossain Khan confirmed the matter to media. Sources said the flight landed at 8:30 am. The NSI and customs detectives then arrested Belal, a civil aviation security guard, with 60 gold bars. The weight of 60 pieces of gold bar is 9 kg 270 grams. Its market value is about 5 crore 35 lakh takas. An official of the airport customs said that the process of filing a case is underway.
