Nur Nazma Akhter Lopa Talukder, who was arrested in connection with the abduction of florist girl Zinia (9) from Dhaka University’s TSC area, was sent to jail on Friday.
After a two-day remand, Lopa was produced before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on September 11. The investigation officer of the case Ramna zonal team Sub-Inspector Md. Shahjahan Mia requested the honourable judge to keep Lopa in jail till the end of the investigation.
On the other hand, her lawyer applied for bail. After hearing both the parties, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury rejected her bail application and ordered to send her to jail.
In her Facebook profile Lopa claimed herself as the General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami Peshajibi League, and former Student Affair’s Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
On her Facebook page, she is seen receiving the Cyclone Preparation Programme (CPP) Award 2019 from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
On the Facebook page she also posted her photos with ruling party leaders and ministers, and many social media users criticised her connection with the ruling party.
Prior to her arrest in Zinia abduction case, many commented on Facebook that earlier she was also accused in several cases, including kidnapping, human trafficking, and fraudulence.
She was once accused in a triple-murder case. But she remains ‘untouched’ due to her connection with influential quarters.
