A divorcee woman of village Barabashbaria in Dema Union under Sadar Upazila of Bagerhat was gang raped by some local drug traders and debauched at Sunday mid night. As a result, she sustained severer injuries . At present she has been undergoing treatment in the gynecology ward of Bagerhat Sadar Hospital. She claimed, some neighbours committed such a heinous and inhuman incident out of previous enmity with her family-members over land properties. She demanded justice.
On Monday at noon Md. Mahmud Hasan, Additional Police Super of Bagerhat Sadar Circle, K M Azizul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Sadar Model PS, Rijia Parveen, Woman Vice-chairman of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Parishad and some local woman leaders visited the victim in the Hospital.
In this connection the victim divorcee lodged a case with Bagerhat Model PS mentioning the names of five persons on Monday afternoon. One person was arrested till the writing of his report in connection with the incident.
Police are now trying their best to arrest the rest accused persons. The victim who is now under treatment in the Sadar Hospital told.
at the night at bout 12 M when I came out of the house to respond to a nature’s call the miscreant who were lying in ambush there earlier caught me all on a sudden, tied my hands and mouth with napkins made of handloom and took me to a nearby garden where they committed gang rape with me repeatedly and forcibly. I want justice of this incident. She added, the rapists are identified as local drug traders and involved in various unsocial and criminal activities.
