Current week social activist and model Munjarin Mahbub Abony won the crown of ‘Mrs. Bangladesh,’ which was organised in the country for the first time. She wants to work for the people with intellectual disabilities (ID) for rest of her life. She wants to sacrifice her life for them. Four months ago, Abony established a dance school named Abony’s in the capital’s Gulshan area. In this school, she gives teaching on dance to the people with intellectual disabilities in free. As Abony knows how to dance, so she teaches them dancing. She wants to work with people with ID at international level.
While talking in this regard Abony told this correspondent, “In fact, in other countries, celebrities work for the society and its people which are little bit seen in our country. For this reason, I want to work with people with intellectual disabilities. I want to concentrate myself with their mental development. I want to develop their lives through arranging charity shows for collecting funds for them. I want to work for the society.”
After becoming winner of ‘Mrs. Bangladesh’ crown Abony got many offer for acting in TV plays but she has no interest to act. While talking in this regard she said, “I do not know acting. I do not want to do forcibly which I don’t know. I want to acting after learning it.” According to her, in cultural arena of our country, dance is in backward position rather than movie, theatre and drama. So, she wants to work with dancing. After completing five years course in dancing from Bangladesh Lalitakala Academy Abony also received training from Tabassum Ahmed and Amirul Moni. India’s Birju Moharaj is her idol in dance. In 2016, she received training from him. Her husband and parents inspired her to contest in ‘Mrs. Bangladesh.’ She completed SSC from Shaheed Anwar School, HSC from Cambrian College in 2013 and BSc from Mechanical Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.
