The body of a class IX student, who was allegedly killed by the students of class X of a high school in Homna upazila, has been recovered from the school’s septic tank on Thursday, five days after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Jahid Hasan, 14, a student of Dulalpur Chandramukhi High School and son of Aktaruzzaman.
Rasul Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Homna Police Station, said after receiving a call from someone, Jahid came out from his house on Friday and went missing.
Victim’s father filed a general diary with Home Police Station the following day.
In the meantime, victim’s uncle received a text message and a phone call, demanding Tk 50,000 as ransom.
Tracking the phone call, police detained three 10th grader students – Emdadul Haque, Jihadul Islam, Khairul Alam – of the same school on Wednesday morning.
