Disconnection squad of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Ltd snapped gas connections of total 890 burners o 180 consumers in the port city during the raid from March 2 to March 29 last. These vigilance drive was conducted in Chandgaon, Baizid, Mehdibag, Agrabad, Jaynagar, Muradpur, Chowkbazar, Mirzarpool, Dampara, Khulsi, Nasirabad, Sulakbahar, Badurtala, Kapasgola, South Halishahar in the city. Sources said connections was snapped following the use of gas illegally by installing unauthorized gas risers bypassing gas and default of arrear bills. KGDCL sources said the arrear bills of the consumers will be realized and cases will be lodged with the concerned under Gas Act of 2010 .
