State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan informed the Jatiya Sangsad that a total of 92 police stations have been upgraded to model police stations under the Police Reform Programme (PRP).
Of those, 35 model police stations were constructed under the UNDP’s financial
support while the rest by the Japan Debt Concessionary Fund (JDCF) support, he said this on Monday while responding to a question of treasury bench member MA Hannan.On another question raised by Abul Kalam Md Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury, the state minister said all activities have been stopped to set up police outpost or camp for lack of specific policies.
The government is now setting up investigation centers as per the government policy, he said adding the centers are being set up in rural areas especially where the transport communication is rough.
