Public Health and Engineering Deparment (PHED) has achieved 92% coverage in sanitation in all the 13 upazilas of the district.
The upazilas are: Haluaghat, Dobaura, Trishal Bhaluka Gaargoan, Nandail, Ishwarganj, Gouripur, Phul pur, Tarakanda, Mymensingh Sadar, Muktagacha,and Phulbaria.
PHED sources said about 56 thousand tube-wells were installed in the district with a view to supply pure drinking water to the rural people.
The sources said installation works of 1,341 hand tube-wells have been continued under PEDP-3 projects in the district with a view to supply pure drinking water to the rural people.
Besides, PHED has constructed 573 wash-blocks one in each primary school for boys students and 675 wash-blocks were constructed in each primary school for the girls students. PHED has already achieved coverage in 92 percent in the district.
