Jatiya Oikyafront in a press briefing on Wednesday said if there is opportunity, majority voters will cast most of the votes for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’. December 30 would be a Ballot Revaluation Day.
Oikyafront leaders said, the country is a land of prisoners. The opposition alliance does not get any chance for their election campaign. Ruling party cadre and the police force jointly attack their rallies.
Oikyafront expected Armed forces to perform neutrally. The alliance said, people of Bangladesh hoped that after the deployment of Armed
forces the situation will improve. Every party alliance will get equal chance to campaign. But situation is abnormal. If the situation continues, the environment will become worse.
Oikyafront leader Jaglul Hayder Afrik read a written statement on behalf of Oikyafront Convener Dr Kamal Hossain.
In the written statement Oikyafront presented the list of attacks on their candidates, leaders and supporters. They said that police held in last two days more than one thousand leaders and activists.
Oikyafront claimed that the AL tried to make a panic situation that people will fear to go to the voting centres. They frequently use arms on the opposition leaders and activists. For example, they said that an attack was launched on Goyeshwar Chandra Roy.
Goyeshwar Chandra Roy’s daughter Kalpana Chandra Roy spoke in the press briefing and demanded the security of his family and condemned attack on her father.
Gono Forum Executive President Shubrata Chowdhury, Secretary General Mostafa Mohsin Montu and BNP Joint Secretary General Mozzam Hossain Alal, among others, were present.
