90 NRBs to get CIP status in 2017

Ninety Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) will get Commercially Important Person (CIP) status in 2017.
The NRBs will get the status in three categories like industrial investors (20 persons), remittance senders (50 persons) and importers of Bangladeshi products (20 persons), according to an Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry announcement.
If any NRB has invested US$3 lakh or above in the country or sent $2 lakh remittance through legal channels or imported Bangladeshi products worth about $3 lakh or above, he or she can apply for CIP status, the announcement added.
The ministry said eligible persons can apply by August 31 through prescribe form under (Non-Residence Bangladeshi)-2015 policy.
