A total of 90.75 percent students in Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations under Chittagong Education Board (CEB) passed this year and the success rate is 5.27 percent more than last year’s.
The board authority has announced the results at a press conference at its conference hall here this noon with Board Secretary Prof. Abdul Mobin in the chair.
This year 1,79,095 students appeared from 1,209 institutions under 211 centres in the exams. A total of one lakh 62 thousand and 524 students passed from Chittagong Education Board.
The pass rate this year rose to 90.75 percent from last year’s 85.48 percent.
Among the institutions, 192 achieved 100 percent pass rate while no educational institutions witnessed zero pass rate.
The number of GPA-5 achievers this year is 14,135 which are 1,867 more than the previous year and 7.89 percent of the total result.
Among them 6,315 male and 7,820 female students got GPA-5.
Besides, 91.14 percent male and 90.42 percent female students succeeded.
The percentage of pass in the schools of city area is 94.18 % while 88.92% students from the schools out of the city area came out successful except hill districts.
Among the districts, the pass rate was 94.32 percent for Cox’s Bazar, 88.32 percent for Rangamati, 89.70 percent for Khagrachari and 83.55 percent for the Bandarban.
Prof. Mahbub Hasan, Controller of Chittagong Education Board expressed his satisfaction over the result.
