Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized nine trucks of Indian betel leaf worth Tk. 3.42 crore from Notunhaat area on Benapole -Jashore-Benapole Highway on Wednesday night.
Jashore BGB 49 Battalion Commanding officer Lt Col Selim Reza said that BGB conducted a drive getting information that 58 tons of smuggled Indian betel leaf was being taken to Dhaka by trucks.
Betel leaf worth Tk 3.42 crore and the trucks were seized, CO added.
A case was filed in this connection with Jashore Kotwali Police Station.
