The members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested nine people from Thakurpur border area under Damurhuda upazila, while they were being trafficked to India recently.
The arrestees include five women, two men and two children and hailed from Jhikabari village in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district.
BGB sources said acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-6 battalion conducted a drive in different areas along Thakurpur border and arrested them.
The arrestees were later handed over to Damurhuda Model Police Station, police said.
