Nou, Shorak O Railpath Rokkha Jatiya Committee placed nine points recommendations to protect waterway passengers traveling during the Eid-ul-Azha.
The committee announced their suggestions in a written statement on Saturday signed by Manzurul Ahsan Khan, the Chief Adviser of the committee.
The points are: Mobile courts under district magistrates in every important areas of waterways from August 21.
Deployment of police apart from naval police and coast guards.
Strengthening drives against unfit, unregistered and all illegal launches and waterway transports. To install close circuit cameras in every launch terminals from 10 days before Eid under adequate security measures.
Forecasting of weather news and bulletin from 10 days before the Eid with warning to the launch owners to follow the met office directions.
Stoppage of survey of launches from 10 days before the Eid.
Keeping launch terminala adjacent roads gridlock free and keeping the toilets of those terminals clean with adequate amount of water.
The committee said it has sent the copies of statement to the shipping ministry, the parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of shipping, BIWTA, BIWTC and Launch Owners Association.
