9-point recommendations of HPWC to govt

A meeting of the Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Council, Chittagong was held at Hotel Paramount conference hall in city recently with its President Ahmadul Islam chowdhury in the chair. Secretary General of HPWC Principal Dr. Abdul Karim delivered the address of welcome in it. Treasurer of the council Dr. Saleh Ahmed Suleman conducted the meeting as moderator. The meeting discussed the painful tragedy occurred in the last Hajj season in Makkah and exchanged views about the remedy from such incidents in future.
The meeting expressed concern about the irregularities and unfair means of the Travel agencies and irregularities of Bangladesh and Saudi govt . In order to perform Hajj in coming season properly and peacefully, the meeting formulated 9-points recommendations for sending to Prime Minister immediately.
The recommendations are- 1) forming committee to monitor the hajj activities from Prime Minister’s office, 2) proper data entry of hajj pilgrims to avoid the fake or manpower traffickers 3) exemplary punishment to Hajj & Omra Agents those involved with manpower trafficking, 4) Decentralisation of hajj flights simultaneously from Dhaka, Ctg and sylhet airports. 5) to strenghthen the govt hajj mission to engage the Moallems and hireout houses in Makkah and Madina, 6) Engage hajj deligate or guide from Saudi expatriate Bangalees rather to send from Bangladesh 7) increase of medicare services as per ratio of hajj pilgrims 8) Use of Madina airport beside Jeddah airport like other foreign countries and 9) Deputation of high powered govt teams to monitor hajj performance in Saudi Arabia.
2 killed in road mishaps: Two unidentified persons were killed in separate road accidents in the city on Thursday morning.
According to Bar Awliya Highway Police sources, a Chittagong-bound bus had lost its control while crossing the Bar Awliya Baypass area under Sitakunda upazila around 9:00am, leaving conductor of the bus dead on the spot.
In another accident, a covered van driver was killed as a Lorry collided head-on with the van on Dhaka-Chittagong highway under Mirsarai upazila around 11:00am.
