At least nine more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Rangpur, at least four more persons were killed and three others seriously injured following a head-on clash between a battery-powered easy bike and a truck on the Rangpur-Badarganj Road of the district on Sunday .
The accident took place at Shahbajpur area at 11 am.
Sajedul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangpur Kotwali Police Station told the media that four passengers of the easy bike, who died on the spot, could not be identified instantly.
The injured were rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
In Sirajganj, two workers were crushed to death by a pick-up van on the Bangabandhu Bridge, West Link Highway in Saydabad of Sirajganj.
The deceased were identified as Jahangir Hossain, 30, and Shamim, 32, residents of Jarila Porabari village under Sirajganj sadar upazila.
Four of their fellows became injured. Three of them were admitted to 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital. All of the victims worked at a power plant in Sirajganj.
Jahurul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station confirmed the news of accident to media.
The bodies were sent to the sadar hospital morgue.
In Barisal, one motorcyclist named Mamun ,34, was killed in the road crash after lossing control.
The accident occured on Sunday on the Dhaka-Patuakhali Highway in Rahamganj area of Bakerganj.
Mamun was resident of Mirzarganj area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bakerganj Police Station Masuduzzaman confirmed the news to media.
In Rangamati, a girl named Modhumita Chakma
(26) was killed and three more were critically injured in a road accident at Chandpur upazila of Rangamati Sadar on Tuesday.
The accident took place on Sunday morning.
Officer-in-Charge of Rangamati Kotwali Police Station Zahidul Haque told the news to media.
In Kishoreganj, an unknown child (11) was killed when a truck rammed him in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj district.
The accident occured on Sunday in front of the Upazila Council gate.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Tarail Police Station Al-Amin confirmed the matter to media.
The truck was also detained with driver from the spot, ASI added.
