Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested nine members of a kidnapping gang from the city’s Agargaon area on Monday night.
The elite force members also rescued a victim named Imon Hossain from the clutch of the kidnappers, RAB official said.
Mufti Mahmud Khan, Director of the Legal and Media Wing Director of the RAB, said, “A team of RAB-2 conducted a drive in the BNP Slum area, arrested
the gang and rescued the victim Imon at night.” The elite force official claimed that miscreants demanded ransom of Tk seven lakh from Imon’s family.
Several firearms and bullets were recovered from the spot, the RAB official said. A case was filed against the kidnappers with the police station, he said.
