National Vitamin A Plus Campaign on Dec 10: 9 lakh children to get Vitamin-A in 3 dists

The Health Department will make the National Vitamin A plus campaign on December-10 to feed vitamin A capsule to 3,43, 551 children in the district.
Civil Surgeon Narsingdi Dr Sultana Razia said this at a press orientation workshop at her office conference room on Wednesday.
She also disclosed their different preparations to make the campaign a success.
The Civil Surgeon said each of the 32295 children aged from 6 months to 11 months will be administered a one lakh IU (International Unit) blue coloured vitamin A capsule while each of the311256 children aged 12 months to 59 months will be fed a two lakh IU red coloured vitamin A capsule on the day in the district.
The Civil Surgeon said the media has a vital role towards making the campaign a total success, She also urged the journalists to provide constructive and objective news for better contribution to nation-building activities to make a happy and prosperous country
Deputy Director Family Planning Abdur Razzak, Health Education Officer Jahangir Hossain, Dr Mohammad Abu Kawsar Shoman, Dr Monni Saha and president of Narsingdi press club Morshed Shahariar, The New Nation Correspondent M.A Awal and BSS Correspondent Abu Taher addressed the orientation workshop.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: More than 3.53 lakh children under five years of age will be administered vitamin ‘A’ Plus capsules on National Vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign-16, on December 10 (2nd round) in the city and nine upazilas of the district.
The campaign will begin at 8am in 2,240 centres and continue till 4pm.
A total of 1,744 outreach vaccination centres will be set up by Rajshahi Civil Surgeon office. Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) will set up 384 centres in 30 wards to carry out the programme.
Over 1,152 volunteers and health workers of RCC would be engaged for giving vitamin ‘A’ Plus capsules to the children aged from zero to 5 years in the city corporation areas.
Bagerhat Correspondent adds: Public Health Department organised an orientation meeting with the local journalist on vitamin A Plus Campaign will be launched on December 10, was held in Bagerhat Press Club auditorium on Wednesday morning.
Dr. Arun Chandra Mandol, Civil Surgeon, Bagerhat presided over the meeting while Md. Mamunul Hasann, ADC (Gen), Bagerhat attended and addressed the meeting as Chief Guest.
The key note papers was presented by Dr. Nazrul Islam, Deputy Civil Surgeon, Bagerhat.
