9 killed in road crashes

At least nine persons, including four in Thakurgaon, were killed and many others seriously injured in several road crashes in districts on Thursday.
In Thakurgaon, at least four persons were killed and 20 others injured in a tragic road crash on the Thakurgaon-Panchagarh Highway in Sadar upazila of the district Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as bus driver Babul, 20, three passengers as Kamruzaman Babu, 42, Abul Kalam Azad, 35, and Mojibur Rahman, 60.
Local souces said that the accident took place around 10am when a Thakurgaon-bound passenger bus collided head-on with another passenger bus coming from the opposite direction leaving two passenger dead on the spot and at least 20 others injured.
Md Ashikur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Thakurgaon Police Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Dhaka, a motorcyclist died and another person injured in a road crash when a bus rammed him in city’s Jatrabari area on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Imarat Hossain, 48, from Narayanganj district.
Mazharul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Jatrabari Police Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Habiganj, a motorcyclist named Kashem Miah, 25, was killed when a truck hit him in Nawapara area under Madhobpur upazila of the district.
In Sherpur, an olderly woman named Khadeja Begum, 60, was killed when a passenger bus rammed her in new bus stand of the district.
Abdullah Al Mamun, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Sadar Police Station told the media.
In Dhamrai, (Dhaka) an unidentified youth died in a tragic road crash at Belisor area under Dhamrai on Thursday noon.
