At least nine Rohingya people sustained burn injuries after a gas cylinder used for inflating balloons exploded at Madhuchhara Camp in Ukhia Upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The cylinder went off with a big bang when a Rohingya boy Md Eliyas was pumping gas into a balloon at Kutupalon G-2 zone of the camp around 4 pm, leaving nine people injured, said Abul Khayer, officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station.
The injured were admitted to Ukhia MSF Hospital immediately after the incident, the OC added.
