At least nine persons, including a newlywed couple and a child, have been killed when a train rammed a microbus in Ullahpara upazila of Sirajganj district on Monday evening.
The accident took place in Panchokoshi area on the Dhaka-Ishwardi Railway Line around 7 pm in the evening.
The details of the deceased couldn’t be known instantly.
Locals said that, a Dhaka-bound ‘Padma’ Train crashed into the car at the level crossing beside Panchakroshi Ali Ahmed High School in Ullapara.
The level crossing, on the north side of Salap Railway Station, has no gates, according to witnesses.
Mosharaf Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Ullahpara Police Station confirmed the matter to the media that the condition of the injured persons are not good. They are in the hospital under treatment, SI added.
