9 DU students get Deans’ Award

Nine meritorious students from different departments under the Faculty of Pharmacy of Dhaka University (DU) received “Deans’ Award” for their excellent academic results in Bachelor of Pharmacy examinations of 2015, 2016 and 2017. Besides, 14 more students have received scholarship. DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed the awards and scholarships among the students at a function held on Wednesday at TSC auditorium of the university. Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of DU Prof. Dr. SM Abdur Rahman presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad and Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin addressed it as special guests. Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Prof Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar delivered welcome speech. VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman called upon the students to prepare themselves with the combination of merit, truthfulness, patriotism and honesty. He also urged them to become good human being. “They must equip themselves with humanitarian values to serve the nation,” the VC added.
Deans’ awardees are- Fahad Imtiaz Rahman, Mahfuza Afroz Soma, Parsa Sanjana Haque, Poushali Saha, Mahmudul Hasan, Halima Akter, Farzana Kabir, Sabiha Enam Spriha and Taslima Binte Kamal.
The recipients of scholarship are- Parisa Tamannur Rashid, Mokaddas Flora Ananta, Faria Tasneem, Luba Binte Mahbub, Tanzia Islam Tithi, Nazifa Tabassum, Md. Sabbir Hosssain, Saimon Shahriar, Rashmia Nargis Reyda, Sowkat Jahan Shipa, Asef Raj, Kazi Milenur Rahman Prattay, Ahad Chowdhury and Sadia Tasnim Mina.
