Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained nine Bangladeshi nationals, including three children and four women, from Salda Nadi border area in Kasba upazila of the district on early Saturday while they were returning from India without valid documents.
All the detainees are hailing from Baniachang upazila of Habiganj district. BGB also detained Khokon Mia, son of Alfaz Mia of Putia village under Bayek union of the upazila on charge of helping the detainees to illegally go to India.
Confirming the matter, Lance Nayek Md. Abdur Rahim of Salda camp of 60 BGB Battalion said that among the detainees two male, four female and three children against whom a case was filed with Kasba Police Station.
