Rangpur Metropolitan DB police arrested two drug dealers and seven drug addicts along with five hundred pieces of yaba. They were detained in two separate raids in the city on Friday night.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB & Media) Uttam Prasad Pathak confirmed the matter.
He said that on the basis of secret information, a drug dealer named Mamun was arrested along with 400 pieces of yaba from Bhanga Bridge area of Panda Dighi area of Parshuram police station on Friday night and another drug dealer named Ashraf Ali along with 100 pieces of yaba from Satgarh area under Kotwali police station.
Seven more drug addicts were also been arrested from different parts of the city. They are Nur Islam Siddique, son of Kadar Ali of Parashuram Police Station, Abdur Razzak, son of Sabel Gariyal of Hazirhat Police Station, Jewel Rana of Uttam Bania Para of Hazirhat Police Station, Atiqul Islam Roman, son of Tajul Islam, son of late Anwarul Islam of Keranipara area of Kotwali Police Station Rakib Mia, son of the late Badsha Mia of the area. Uttam Prasad Pathak said anti-drug campaigns are being carried out at various places in Rangpur to eradicate drugs.
