Court Correspondent :Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested nine suspects including mastermind Masud for abduction of Milestone College student Rajib on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off RAB made a special raid and held Md Masud Rana alias Momin alias Shaon alias Fardin and his accomplice Md Rajib alias Akash. Later, following facts obtained from the duo, RAB held Meer Noman Salehin alias Tarun alias Roman from Nagarpur area of Bhuapur Police Station , Md Mofazzal Hossain alias Babu Md Ershad Ali, Md Abdur Razzaque, Md Lebu Mia, Md Osman Gani from Shashuar Char area and Sumaiya Sharmin Monami from Tangail Natun Bus Stand, all nine involved in the abduction.After primary interrogation of the detained accused, RAB learnt that on February 10, Masud Rana, Tarun alias Roman, a first cousin of abducted Rajib, Momin, Rajib alias Akash and Babu planned to abduct Rajib, first cousin of Tarun to gain cash money as they needed. They knew that Rajib’s father was doing big garment business at Tongi area and as he owned a lot of money so they could gain huge amount of money as ransom through the abduction. Later, they implemented their plan of abduction final. As a part of conspiracy, Masud made a trap of love through his girl friend Monami. On April 8, this year some miscreants abducted Rajib from the square in front Shahjalal International Airport. Immediately after the abduction, the detective branch of RAB became extremely concerned to rescue Rajib. Meer Redwan Ahmed alias Rajib is a Class XII student of Milestone College.Meanwhile, Minhaj Ranju Ahmed father of Rajib paid a ransom of Tk 24 lakh to save his son’s life. However, RAB was able to recover a big portion of money from the abductors.
