An eighth grader was stabbed to death allegedly by his classmate at Kashiadanga Aduburipara in the city on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Imon Hossain, 14, a student of Yusep Momena Bongsho School and son of Abdus Salam of the area.
Mansur Ali, officer-in-charge of Kashiadanga Police Station, said Imon locked into an altercation with his classmate Hridoy, son of Akbar Ali of Laxmipur area, while having tiffin in the afternoon.
At one stage, Hridoy hit Imon with a knife, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 8:30 pm.
Police arrested Hridoy.
