Rajuk Uttara School tops: 89.85pc pass JSC; 93.50 pc JDC exams

A total of 15, 54, 427 (90.41 percent) students out of 17,29,931 passed the Junior School Certificate examinations while 311540 (93.50 percent) students out of 2,91305 came out successful in the Junior Dakhil Certificate examinations.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Tuesday announced the result in the Secretariat at 11am.
Meanwhile, 93.50 percent of Madrasa students equivalent to Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examination passed this year. The number of Grade Point Average (GPA) is 1, 56,235 in both JSC and the JDC examinations.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gonobhaban yesterday morning.
Nurul Islam Nahid urged all the political parties not to call any hartal during the public examinations.
Rajuk Uttara Model School and College topped the list of the 10 best schools in this year’s JSC examination held across the country.
Viqarunnisa Noon School secured the second position while Ideal School and College 3rd, Shamsul Haque Khan School and College 4th, Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College 5th, Dhaka Residential Model College sixth, Shafiuddin Sarker Academy at Tongi seventh, Motijheel Government Girls’ School eighth, Bidyamoyee Government Girls’ School and College ninth and Motijheel Government Boys School attained 10th position in the JSC examination.
The students can get their results from their respective schools. The results are also available on the websites of respective boards and directorate and through SMS service.
The JSC and JDC students can get their results on webside www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
Around 21 lakh students sat for the JSC and JDC examinations this year that began on November 7, a week after it was actually scheduled for because of hartals clamped by the Jamaat-e-Islami.
Last year, the pass rate was 89.94 percent. That year, a total of 1,72,208 students secured GPA-5, the highest Grade Point Average.
