The 87th hanging day of Masterda Surya Sen who was a Bengali independence fighter and led the 1930 Chittagong armory raid against the British colonial rule in India was observed in Chittagong recently.
The organisations held rallies and offered floral wreaths to the sculpture of Masterda Surya Sen in observance of the day. Protyo 71, an cultural organization offered floral wreaths at the sculpture of Masterda Surya Sen in the morning and held rally at JM Sen hall in port city.
The rally was presided over by Diponkar Kajol. Awami League leader Saifuddin Khaled Bahar addressed the function as chief guest.
Among others, Mrinal Krishna Dey, Bibekananda Achriya, Kiron Lal Achariya, Saifuddin Rana, S M Didar, Engineer T K Sikdar, Ratan Acariya, Seasor Barua and Babu Dey.
Bangabandhu Shilpi Ghoshti Chittagong Divisional Committee also held rally at Kodom Mobarak Memorial Hall in observance of the day. President of Bangabandhu Shilpi Ghoshti Chittagong Divisional Committee Nazimuddin Shyamol chaired the rally.
Among others Awami League leader Begum Hasina Jafor, Dipewn Chowdhury, Mohammed Lipton, Ismail Manik, Swapon Sen, Mostak Ahamed addressed the rally.
