Police, in special drives from Thursday night to this morning, arrested 53 persons including an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami, five drug traders, and recovered 70 bottles of Phensidyl syrup,550-gram of ganja, 100 pieces of Yaba tablets and one liter of locally made liquor from eight upazilas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 19 persons including one drug trader with 550-gram of ganja and 100 pieces of Yaba tablets and 20 bottles of Phensidyl, Kalaroa police seven including one drug trader with 50 bottles of Phensidyl syrup, Tala police eight including an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami, Kaliganj police seven including three drug traders with one liter of locally made liquor, Shyamnagar police three, Assasuni police four,Patkelghata police four and Debhata police arrested one accused.
BSS from Dinajpur adds: Police, in special drives from Thursday night to this morning, arrested 33 persons including two activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, five drug traders, and recovered 208 bottles of Phensidyl syrup and 900 liters of locally made liquor from 11 upazilas of the district.
Police said, during the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 11 persons including five drug traders with 900 liters of locally made liquor,Khansama Thana police arrested two activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, Biral two,Kaharole three, Hakimpur police arrested three, Birampur police arrested two accused, Phulbari Thana police three, Ghoraghat Thana police arrested two,Parbatipur Thana police one, Bochaganj Thana police two and Birganj Thana police arrested four accused.
