Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in an drive arrested 85 people for selling and consuming drugs in the city in the last 24 hours till 6 am on Friday.
A total of 5,252 Yaba tablets, 617 grams heroin, 460 grams hemp, 20 bottles of Phensidyl, 48 canes beer and 26 ampoules of sedative injections were recovered from their possession during the drives, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
A total of 52 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
