SSC results: 84.77 pc pass in Sylhet Education Board

The result of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) of Sylhet Education Board was published by Mr. Md Shamsul Islam, Controller of Examinations of the Board at 11-30 on Wednesday.
Out of total 84.448 Examinees including female 46.776 ones appeared at the SSC Examination, 2016 under Sylhet Education Board where 71,586 came out successful, of which 2266 secured GPA 5 (male 1225 and female 1041)
The salient feature of the result is that the successful female candidates out-numbered their male successful counterparts 32318.
Last year the number of GPA 5 holders was 2452.
The overall rate of passing out this year is 84.77 percent while the passing out rate of 2015 was 2.95% less than that of 2016. Althought the success rate increased this year, the GPA 5 holders` number decreased by 186 this year.
Creative system blamed for bad results in Barisal Board
Barisal Correspondent adds: Results of Secondary School Certificate examination of 2016 under Barisal Education Board has declined than previous year blaming creative question system.
It was said by Muhamammad Shah Alamgir, BEB controller of examination in press briefing held at his office Wednesday morning.
This year the percentage of pass in SSC under this board was 79.41 percent as 64,902 examinees out of 81,728 appeared passed and 16,826 (20.59 percent) failed.
The percentages of pass were 84.37 in 2015, 90.66 in 2014, 88.63 in 2013, 86.67 percent in 2012, 83.40 in 2011 and 74.64 percent in 2010.
A total of 3,113 (4.4.79 Percent) passed with GPA-5 out of passed 79.41 examinees of 2016, which was 3,514 in 2013 and 4,762 in 2014 and 3,171 in 2015.
This year 2 of 1,390 schools scored zero-percent pass rate which was none in 2015, one in 2014, none in 2013, 2012, one in 2011 and four in 2010, said Mohammad Shah Alamgir, controller of examination Barisal Education Board after disclosing the result.
This year cent percent examinees passed SSC from 79 institutions, which was 208 in 2014 and 146 in 2015
 Muhammad Shah Alamgir, controller of examinations BEB, said creative form of question caused bad results especially in Mathematics, English as educational institutions, teachers, students yet to be habituated with this curriculum.
