84.70 % Covid-19 patients cured in Khulna

The prevalence recovery rate of COVID -19 patients in the division currently stands at 84.70 percent and the daily number of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections continued to fall in recent days.
“A total of 18,058 COVID-19 patients out of total 21,319 infected patients have been cured till Sunday and the recovery rate of the lethal virus is 84.70 percent,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana told BSS on Monday. The total recovered COVID-19 patients include 5,446 in Khulna, 2,824 in Kushtia, 2,654 in Jashore, 1,519 in Jhenaidah,1206 in Chuadanga, 1171 in Narail, 1010 in Satkhira, 902 in Bagerhat, 819 in Magura, and 507 in Meherpur districts.
Talking to BSS, Assistant Director (Health) Dr. Ferdoushi Akter said 279 more COVID-19 infected patients recovered in last 24 hours till Monday noon raising the total number to 18,058 in all ten districts of the division.
Health officials said the total number of infected patients climbed to 21,319 as 78 new people were reported positive after testing 152 collected samples at COVID-19 Laboratories in Khulna and others samples were collected from two PCR laboratories in the division in last 24 hour till Monday noon.
Of the newly detected COVID-19 patients, 24 are in Jashore, 21 in Kushtia,12 each in Khulna and Jhenaidah, seven in Chuadanga and two in Narail districts in the division.
Dr Ferdousi said the whereabouts of the persons, who came in contact with COVID-19 patients, were brought to notice and they were asked to remain in home isolation so that the virus cannot spread further.
She said all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 21,428 others are being monitored in isolation units in different hospitals under institutional supervision and another 18,257 were released.
The district-wise breakup of the patients ; 6,260 are in Khulna, 3,771 in Jashore, 3,177 in Kushtia, 1,869 in Jhenaidah, 1,395 in Chuadanga, 1,299 in Narail, 1,091 in Satkhira, 977 in Bagerhat 887 in Magura and 593 in Meherpur districts.
“Among the total 21,319 coronavirus infected persons, 2,273 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 18,058 have recovered and 368 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Dr. Ferdousi said. With one more death in Kushtia, the total number of fatalities now reached 368 in the division. “The district-wise break-up of the fatalities are 93 in Khulna, 67 in Kushtia, 44 in Jashore, 32 in Chuadanga, 32 in Jhenaidah, 30 in Satkhira, 22 in Bagerhat, 20 in Narail, 15 in Meherpur and 13 in Magura districts in the division”, she added.
Currently, the fatality rate among the total 21,319 COVID-19 patients stands at 1.72 percent in the division. Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana called upon everyone for wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and abiding by all health safety guidelines and oter rules, set by government to prevent further community transmission of COVID-19 infection in the region .
