Around 82 admission seekers will vie for each seat at Jagannath University (JnU), as over 2.25 lakh students have applied for admission test for the first year first semester Honours courses of 2014-15 academic year in 31 departments under five faculties, said a university press release.
The deadline for submission of the admission forms ended at midnight on August 31.
According to the press release, a total of 2,25,959 admission seekers submitted their applications for admission to the university under the session of 2014-2015.
The highest number of students has applied for ‘D’ unit where about 122 students will contest for each seat.
About 61,459 applicants submitted their forms for ‘A’ unit under Science Faculty while 50,551 for ‘B’ unit under Arts Faculty, 45,532 for ‘C’ unit under Business Faculty, 65,961 for ‘D’ unit under Social Science Faculty, and 2,456 for ‘E’ unit under Fine Arts Faculty.
