Eviction team of Chattogram Development Authority so far demolished 81 installations including one 4-storied building, 14 pucca houses, 18 semi pucca, tin sheds 32 , kutcha houses11 and a number of boundary walls at Halishahar area in the city on Sunday .
Special Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Alam chowdhury led the eviction drive dully accompanied by Bangladesh armed forces and thana police. Executive Engneer of CDA and Project Director Ahmed Moinuddin told that the illegally erected these installations over Moheskhal under Halishahar thana evicted.
Following the MOU signed between CDA and Bangladesh Army Engineering core, Armed forces men launched eviction drive aimed at mitigatingthe prevailing waterlogging problems in the city. Under this mega project,
Include 100 kilometers long drains construction, 36 canal digging,175 kilometers retaining wall,85 KMs road and 42 silt trap infrastructures will be built, sources said.
