BSS, Munshiganj :
Fisheries Department in a drive seized 800-kg of jatka (hilsa fry) and 6,000 metres banned current net from the Padma river under Lohajang upazila of the district on Sunday evening.
The department also arrested six fishermen from the river. Later, a mobile court sentenced a jatka trader to one-year imprisonment and realised Taka 5,000 each as fine from five traders.
The Jatka fish was distributed to different Madrasas and orphanages in the district.
