The government will use eight sets of question papers by dividing the 64 districts in eight regions in its attempts to stop question leak in the PSC and Ebtedayee tests.
No one other than top officials of the Directorate of Primary Education will know which district will go under which region. The question papers for the eight regions had already
been sent to the corresponding districts, Primary and Mass Education Additional Secretary Gyanendra Nath Biswas toldthe news agency.
The Primary School Certificate (PSC) and Ebtedayee exams are scheduled to be held between Nov 22 and 29 from 11am to 1:30pm.
The number of students taking the exams this year is over 3.25 million. “If the question paper of a district is leaked, students from only that district will be harmed. Because no one will easily know under which region the adjacent district is,” Biswas said.
The PSC and Ebtedayee tests had been held with only one set of question paper. Question papers had allegedly been made available in the black market before the tests in past few years.
A top official of the Directorate of Primary Education said eight districts were picked up for every region through lottery. The regions for districts will change after every exam.
Additional Secretary Biswas said lottery was also used to select eight sets of question papers from 32 sets.
