UNB, Kushtia :
Detectives arrested eight suspected members of an inter-district robber gang from in front of Kushtial Medical College Hospital on Kushtia-Rajbari highway on Thursday night.
The arrestees were identified as Rajib Hossain, 23, Kamal Hossain, 32, Hasan Pramanik, 25, Ananda Mandal, 45, Abul Hossain Akram, 40, Anwar Hossain Babu, 55, residents of Kushtia district, and Iqbal Hossain, 34, hailing from Rajbari district.
Nur-E-Alam, Senior Assistant Superintendent of the Detective Branch (DB) of Kushtia police, said acting on secrete information that a robber gang were planning to commit a robbery in the district, the detectives conducted a driver in the area and arrested the robbers.
The DB members also seized machetes, sticks and mobile phones from the robbers.
