Police have arrested eight people involved in cattle robbery including pickups after watching CCTV footage in Manikganj.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan at a press briefing at Manikganj Superintendent of Police office on Tuesday.
The arrested are Alamgir Sheikh, Babu Kha, Abu Dawood, Sheikh Iliaz, Saiful Islam, Rafiqul Islam, Shahjahan and Mangal Ali. The arrested robbers are from Manikganj, Sherpur, Joypurhat and different areas of Dhaka district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Singair Police Station Shafiqul Islam Mollah said on April 8, three cows of CFCL Dairy Farm located at Kauri in HarirampurUpazilawere robbed in Garadia area of SingairUpazila on their way to Dhaka in a pickup van. Mahbubullah, RakhalRahmat and Sohan, the driver of the pickup truck carrying the cows, were beaten and robbed of the pickup van along with the cows. The cattle farm filed a case with the Singair police station on April 10. Police rushed to the spot to unravel the mystery of the robbery and arrest the robbers.
