Water levels in eight river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 76 stations recorded fall.
Among the 85 monitored water level stations, one have been registered steady and six were reported flowing above danger marks, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Monday.
In the next 72-hour, the overall flood situation in places of the north, central and north-eastern region of the country may continue to improve, the bulletin added.
The Dhaleswari at Elasin, the Lakhya at Lakhpur, the Kaliganga at Taraghat, the Kobadak at Jhikargacha, the Oldsurma at Derai and the Titas at B.Baria were flowing above their respective danger marks by 24cm, 17cm, 0cm, 30cm, 9cm, and 35cm.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am yesterday. A total of 33 mm rainfall was recorded at Comilla, 32 mm at Sylhet, 30 mm at Sunamganj and 30 mm at Habiganj.
