8 of a family killed in short circuit fire

At least eight members of a family including children were killed in a tragic fire that broke out at Aramnagar colony of Joypurhat town on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Momin, 37, his father Dulal Hossain,70, his mother Momena Begum, 65, wife Porina Begum,30, three daughters Hashi, Khushi and Bristi and one-year old son Abdur Nur.
Of them Momin, Momena and Bristi died on the spot.
Five others succumbed to their burn injuries when they were being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Thursday.
Deceased’s relative Sukhi Begum confirmed the deaths news to media.
Sirajul Islam, In-Charge of Joypurhat Fire Service Station told media, the fire might have originated from an electric short circuit.
Mominul Huq, Office In-Charge (OC) of Joypurhat Police Station confirmed the news to media that after getting the information, law enforcement and firefighters carried out rescue efforts on the spot.
Zakir Hossain, uncle of deceased Momin told the media, after listing the scream,  
I quickly reached the spot, three members of the family died on the spot and five others were recovered with serious burn injuries.
They were taken to nearest Joypurhat Adhunik Zila Hospital. As their condition was degrading, they were supposed to shift to DMCH Burn unit.
Joypurhat Adhunik Zila Hospiatl Emergency unit physician Dr Saiful Islam said each of the five persons sustained 70-75 percent to their bodies.
