The High Court has acquitted four death-row convicts in the sensational eight-murder case in Chittagong in 2000.
Eight Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders
and activists were brutally murdered at the port city’s Bahaddarhat.
Investigators blamed Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, for the killings.
A Chittagong court sentenced four men to death in 2008. They moved the High Court challenging the verdict. On Thursday, a High Court bench acquitted them of the charges.
