Reckless driving takes lives again on the streets. At least eight persons including a school teacher were killed and 20 others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Thursday.
In Rangamati, an youth named Shoel,24, was killed when a mini-bus overtuned in Naniyarchar of the district.
Kabir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Naniyarchar Police Station told the news to the media.
In Gopalganj a minor child named Nasirullah, 3, was killed in a road accident in Muksudpur upazila in the afternoon.
An auto-rickshaw hit Nasrullah and his mother standing roadside in Boalia Bazar area, leaving Nasrullah dead on the spot, said Muksudpur Police Station Sub-Inspector Mizan.
In Chattogram, a bus helper named Mansur Alam, 32, was killed after he fell from a bus at Bahaddarhat area of the city.
He was declared dead at emergency department of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), Alauddin Talukdar, Police Outpost in-Charge of CMCH, told media.
In Rangpur, an unknown truck driver was killed and eight more injured when a truck hit a passenger in Madarpur area under Pirganj upazila of the district.
In Dhaka, a college student named Mehedi Hasan,26, was killed when a cavard van hit him in Khilgaon of the city on Wednesday evening.
In Nawgaon, a school teacher named Nazrul Islam,55, was killed when he lost control on the steering.
In Sylhet, a pedestrian named Pranes Chandro Das, 51, was killed when a truck hit him in Fenchuganj of the district.
