8 more killed in road crashes

At least eight persons were killed and many others seriously injured in several road crashes across the country on Tuesday.
In Cumilla, at least three persons were killed in separate tragic road accidents in the district on Tuesday.
At Chauddagram, two persons including passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and three others seroiusly injured when a microbus rammed the auto rickshaw in Chauddagram upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The accident took place at Jatrapur area on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway around 12 pm.
The deceased were identified as Siraj Miah, 65, son of one Afsar Uddin of Jatrapur village and Ayub Ali, 40, son of Bachchu Miah.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
Abdullah Al Mahfuz, Officer-in-Charge of Chauddagram Police Station, told the matter to the media that “Though microbus was seized, but the driver fled the spot.
Meanwhile, a construction contractor named Kazi Mizanur Rahman,52, was killed when a truck rammed him at Bijra area under Laksham upazila of the district.
In Kishoreganj, a madrasa teacher named Monir Hossain Mukol,40, was killed in Kotiadi upazila of the district.
The deceased Monir Hossain was a teacher of Fazil Madrasa under Koliarchar upazila of the district.
Nasir Uddin Mojumder, Inspector of Kotiadi Output Police told the matter to media.
In Noakhali, a motorcyclist named Md Ershad Ali,35, was killed in a tragic road accident when he tried to safe another pedestrian at Basurhat area under Companiganj upazila of the district on Tuesday.
In Chapainababganj, a motorcyclist named Sun, 17, was killed in a face to face collision between bike and a auto-rickshaw in Shibganj upazila of the district on Tuesday.
In Jamalpur, a local trader named Madhu Sheikh, 50, was killed in a tragic road accident in Melandah of the district on Tuesday.
