Mobile court of Chittagong Port Authority convicted 8 lighter vessels for alleged irregularities of cargo loading and lack of proper safety equipments with Tk.1.10 lakh .Executive Magsistrate of CPA Rokeya Parvin led the mobile court, sources said.
Mobile court sources said these lighter vessels were plying in the channel without proper safety equipments, excess cargo loading , and haphazard berthing in the channel.Besides, Tk.39 thousand reallised from MV Araf as outstanding govttaxes. The convicted vessels are- MV Master Saniyat, MV Rumaisa, MV Araf, MV Jihad, MV Morshed, MV Sipan , MV Parvin and MV Trisha.
